We are Arizona Jewish Business Network – a Jewish Entrepreneurial Chavurah that is dedicated to enhancing your business efforts through local, meaningful Jewish relationships. This, in its essence, is what sets us apart from other business networks, other breakfast/lunch/happy hour groups – we seek to serve the community by developing connections with each other, assisting in the development or promotion of our businesses, and engaging in philanthropic acts of tzedakah.
Jewish Moment?
Shawn Bader presented about Lech L’cha – the parsha that discussed Abraham’s journey to Canan to settle, and Sarah is told that she will have a child at the age of 99 and there is laughter. Shawn says, if you think about it – Life is full of ups and downs and even when things don’t seem to work out the way you want them to, you never know what opportunity will next emerge.
Business Moment?
Heather Rykowski presented about Election Stress Disorder. Client shared tips for coping and seeking help for the anxiety that might emerge as we await the full results of this election. Recommends being mindful of how you are spending your time: focus on productive ways to keep your mind occupied instead of absorbing mindless news. Seek mental health services if you find it difficult to sleep, focus on work, or you are becoming irritable or anxious around people with different political views.

Arizona Jewish Business Meeting Presentation: Lee Silverman, Shear Benefits Insurance
Lee has been specializing in employee benefits and health insurance since 1991. Lee reminded the group that Arizona does not have an individual mandate and has expanded the short term health insurance policies for up to 3 years with a carrier. This broadens options to use of the exchange or off the exchange for a plan that fits you. AZ now has 6 companies that are offering individual health insurance policies. All individual carriers beside the short term plans are HMOs.
