Shawn Bader, DDS, MS
Biography
“In dental school and in private practice, I found orthodontics very different from what a general dentist does. I loved it and knew that’s what I wanted to do. I waited five years after earning my DDS degree before returning to school to pursue my orthodontic dreams. It was worth the wait.
“The most compelling part is transforming a person’s smile and life. I love working with young people and giving them the smiles they are looking for. It will help them for the rest of their lives, building their confidence and self-esteem. I like to treat people in a personable and caring manner. Since I work mostly with kids, I like to treat them with respect, like they are small adults. I have two boys of my own, and I use the same style with my patients as I do with my children. My experience coaching sports helps. Though I think my work experience helps me more with coaching than the other way around. My philosophy is that everyone deserves the best care and patient experience possible.
“I hope to give every patient the great smile they expect. I hope to give them an experience they will remember, rave about and want to tell everybody about. The preteen and early teen time of life can be difficult, so I want to make their orthodontic experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. I have all the qualifications and experience, but my best quality is treating everyone as if they were family members. It helps me know and feel what is best for each patient. I feel that if you treat everyone like family, you will ultimately do what’s best for each person.”
Dr. Shawn spends most of his free time with his kids. His older son plays baseball, and Dr. Shawn coaches Little League baseball and hockey. When he’s not shuttling off to team practices and other activities, Dr. Shawn enjoys working out and playing golf (which he hasn’t done regularly in a few years).
