Jewish Moment – presented by Jacob Leiferman / Leiferman Enterprises

Jacob reminds us that on Shavuot, we celebrate the receipt of the 10 Commandments from G-d.  This is the only time in history that G-d spoke to the entire tribe of Israel from Mt. Sinai – G-d presented the 10 commandments and informed the Jewish People that this was the only time G-d would speak with us directly until the time of our death.  This is thought to be a way we can rest assure that anyone telling us that they spoke directly with G-d is deceiving us – G-d presents to our sages through dreams, not directly in voice.  It is custom to consume only dairy on this holiday, because G-d did not want any tributes (sacrificial animals).

Jacob shared that he attends a modern Orthodox congregation, Congregation Bet Tiffilah.

1.  Act Swiftly:  seize opportunities, act with purpose – fix mistakes later, once an opportunity passes, it’s usually gone.
2. Quit Micro-Worrying – you cannot control all the details.
3.  Find Satisfaction.
4. Establish Genuine Connections
5. Remember the value of hard work – there is no overnight success story.
6.  Don’t Neglect Connections – unless you nurture them they will fall apart.
7. Accept that mistakes do happen – failure doesn’t last, you can reset and reflect on what you’ve learned.
8. Keep an open mind – the best leaders are happy to learn new things and are always welcoming the learning of new skills.
9.  Embrace teamwork – look for solid team members to “make the dream work.”
